We understand that plans can change. This policy outlines our cancellation and refund terms for reservations at Simtokha Wellness Resort. Please read carefully before making your booking.
Standard Cancellation Policy

Peak Season & Special Dates
During peak seasons and special dates, modified cancellation terms may apply:
- Peak Season: March-May and September-November
- Bhutanese Festivals: Tshechu dates and national holidays
- New Year Period: December 20 - January 5
For bookings during these periods:
- Cancellation 45+ days before arrival: Full refund (minus processing fee)
- Cancellation 30-44 days before arrival: 50% refund
- Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: No refund
Group Bookings
For group bookings (3+ villas or special events):
- A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at booking
- Cancellation 60+ days before arrival: 70% refund of remaining balance
- Cancellation 30-59 days before arrival: 50% refund of remaining balance
- Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: No refund

Modifications
Date Changes
- Date changes requested 14+ days before arrival are subject to availability and may incur rate differences
- Date changes within 14 days of arrival are treated as cancellations and rebookings
- One complimentary date change is permitted for bookings of 5+ nights
Villa Upgrades/Downgrades
- Upgrades are subject to availability and applicable rate differences
- Downgrades may incur cancellation fees on the original booking

Please include your booking confirmation number and the primary guest name in all communications.
Refund Processing
- Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days of cancellation confirmation
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- A processing fee of USD 50 may apply to all refunds
- Bank charges or currency conversion differences are the responsibility of the guest
Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, pandemic, government travel restrictions, etc.), we will work with you to:
- Reschedule your stay to alternative dates
- Issue a credit for future use (valid for 12 months)
- Provide a refund if rescheduling is not possible
Force majeure terms are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Medical emergencies and evacuation
- Lost or delayed baggage
- Flight delays and cancellations
Travel insurance can provide additional protection beyond our cancellation policy.
Spa & Activity Cancellations
- Spa treatments: Cancel 4+ hours in advance for full refund
- Activities & excursions: Cancel 24+ hours in advance for full refund
- Private dining: Cancel 48+ hours in advance for full refund
Late cancellations may incur a 50% charge.
